Sanjay Manjrekar's removed from commentry panel of BCCI, Ganguly refused to comment

BCCI has removed Sanjay Manjrekar from the commentary panel. When the Mumbai Mirror asked questions from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) president Saurabh Ganguly, he refused to say anything.

Manjrekar was not part of the commentary team in the recently canceled India and South Africa ODI series. There is speculation that he will no longer be seen doing commentary in the upcoming IPL. Manjrekar also gave his response on the matter in a tweet today.

On Saturday, 'Mumbai Mirror' reported that Manjrekar was not included in the commentary panel in the three-match ODI series against South Africa and now he will be excluded from the commentary panel in the 13th season of the IPL. Manjrekar was not with the commentary team for the Dharamshala ODI match.

Meanwhile, Sanjay Manjrekar has reacted to his removal from the commentary panel in a tweet this evening. Manjrekar wrote in this tweet, 'I have considered commentary as a privilege. But it was never considered a right. It is up to my employers to choose me (for commentary) or not and I always respect it. Probably the BCCI is not happy with my performance. Professionally, I accept it.

However, a BCCI official has indicated that Manjrekar may be seen doing commentary in the IPL. A news agency report quoted a BCCI official as saying, "Yes, he was not part of the panel for this series. But this does not mean that he will not be a part of the commentary in the IPL or the next series.

This officer also said that he is not aware of the reason for Manjrekar's exit from the commentary panel. The first match of the three ODI series was in Dharamsala on Thursday (March 12), which was canceled due to rain. After this, the remaining two ODIs of the series were canceled due to the spread of the coronavirus spread across the world.
