Cricketers should take a break if they think they are playing more than required: Kohli
Before the New Zealand series, Indian team captain Virat Kohli had questioned the tour schedule. In the press conference on the eve of the first T20 match, Kohli said that he is going to play another series directly in the stadium.
Nearly a month later, when the team's tour ended and India only had success in the T20 series, disappointment in the rest of the ODIs and Tests, then Kohli gave a different tone saying that 'the team cannot take a long offseason'.
Kohli said in a press conference after the end of the second Test match on Monday, 'Like I said earlier, I don't think I will have any problem in the coming two-three years.
If players feel that cricket is getting more, then they should set their priorities according to the format and take a break accordingly. There is no other option but this.
The 31-year-old captain said, "It will not help if the Indian team's off-season is too long." He said, 'At present, taking a break is the only solution as the Future Tour Program (FTP) is already ready. We have to adjust to the situation. Taking a break is important. If the bowler gets injured in the middle match, then you can see what is wrong. It is our job to handle the burden.
