Wellington T20: India win again in super over, 4-0 lead in series

Indian team defeated New Zealand in the Super Over in the fourth T20 in Wellington and with the win on Friday, took their lead to 4-0 in the 5-match series. India scored 165 for 8 wickets in the scheduled 20 overs at the West Pack Stadium, after which the New Zealand team also scored 165 for 7 wickets in 20 overs. The match was followed by a super over for the result.



New Zealand scored a total of 13 runs in the super over and Team India got a target of 14 runs to win. India achieved the target by losing 1 wicket from 5 balls.


Pandey handled, studded FiftyManish Pandey scored an unbeaten 50 off 36 balls to take India to 165 for 8 wickets. The Indian team, who came out to play for the first batting invitation, had lost 6 wickets for 88 runs at one time. After this, Pandey handled the innings and brought the team to a respectable score. Opener Lokesh Rahul contributed 39 runs from 26 balls which included three sixes and two fours.

Virat, Iyer returned cheaply
New Zealand won the toss for the fourth consecutive time and decided to bowl. Samson started the innings with Rahul but was dismissed for eight runs off five balls. Virat Kohli (11) also returned cheaply to Pavilion, who was dismissed by Hamish Bennett. Ish Sodhi dismissed Shreyas Iyer (1) and Shivam Dubey (12). New Zealand bowled tight and disciplined in this match. Sodhi took 3 wickets for 26 runs. At the same time, Mitchell Santner dismissed Sundar (0).

Major changes in Playing-XI
Kane Williamson was ruled out of the match due to a shoulder injury, with Tim Southee taking over as captain. In the Indian team, Sanju Samson, Navdeep Saini and Washington Sundar were replaced in place of the previous match hero Rohit Sharma, Mohammed Shami and Ravindra Jadeja. Williamson and Colin de Grandholm were replaced by Tom Bruce and Daryl Mitchell in the Kiwi team.
