James Anderson became the 1st bowler in the world to play more than 150 test matches

England cricket team is on South African tour these days. The first match of the three-match Test series between the two teams is being played at Centurion. In this match, England fast bowler James Anderson has also got a place in the playing eleven. Anderson was injured in the first Test of the Ashes series and is returning to the field with this match after that. James Anderson has entered a special record as a part of playing XI. This is Anderson's 150 Test matches and he became the first fast bowler to do so.
Before Anderson, no fast bowler has played 150 or more Test matches. Overall, he has become the 9th cricketer in the world to do so. Apart from them, Sachin Tendulkar (200), Ricky Ponting and Steve Waugh (both 168), Jacques Kallis (166), Shivnarine Chanderpaul and Rahul Dravid (both 164), Alastair Cook (161) and Alan Border (156) have played more than 150 Test matches. At the same time, Anderson is just the second cricketer to achieve this feat from England.
After recovering from an injury, Anderson, who returned to play in his 150th match against South Africa, made a superb start by dismissing Dean Elgar on the very first ball. Anderson took the wicket on the first ball of the series against South Africa. This is the ninth time in Test cricket when a batsman returns to the pavilion on the first ball of the series. England's Herbert Sutcliffe and Stan Worthington, South Africa's Jimmy Cook, Bangladesh's Hanan Sarkar, India's Wasim Jaffer, New Zealand's Tim McIntosh and India's KL Rahul have all been dismissed for the first ball of the series before Elgar.
