IPL 2022: 15th season of the IPL will be played in India



There is a good news for Indian cricket lovers. Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) secretary Jay Shah has confirmed that the next season of the Indian Premier League ( IPL-2022 ) will be played in India's hosting next year. Shah confirmed this at an event in Chennai. He assured that IPL will be played in India next year in which 10 teams will take part instead of 8.

BCCI Secretary Jay shah  Participated in 'The Champions Call' event in Chennai. The event was organized to celebrate the fourth title win of Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the IPL in which the captain of the team Mahendra Singh Dhoni (MS Dhoni) also appeared.

At the event, Shah has assured that the world's richest cricket league will return to India and it will be even more exciting as new teams- Ahmedabad and Lucknow join in. He said, 'I know you all are waiting to see CSK play in Chepauk. Well, that moment is not far away. 15th season of IPL It will be held in India itself and with the addition of two new teams, it will be more exciting than ever.

The initial part of the last season of IPL (IPL-2021) was played in India. However, due to increasing cases of coronavirus, it was later shifted to UAE. The final of the match was also played in UAE. Shah said that the mega auction will be held in December. He expressed hope that this event will be more interesting.

Jay Shah further said, 'We have a big auction going for the IPL, so it will be interesting to see how the players and the team look in the new combination.' CVC Capital won the bid for Ahmedabad for Rs 5,625 crore while RP-Sanjeev Goenka Group bagged the Lucknow franchise for Rs 7,090 crore. The new franchise will take part in the IPL from next season.
